We prioritize the well-being and adaptability of our furry friends. Our shihtzu puppies are raised in a home environment that prepares them for a transition to their new families.

We also provide complete health records and resources to assist with feeding, grooming, training, and housebreaking. All our puppies receive necessary immunizations and are checked for parasites before sale. Additionally, we offer a one-year health guarantee for added peace of mind.

To ensure responsible ownership, our puppies are sold with a mandatory spay/neuter contract and/or limited registration. We strongly recommend that new puppy parents have their furry baby checked by a veterinarian within 14 days of purchase.

Shih Tzu has been a beloved lap dog for over 1,000 years in ancient China, where royalty treasured them as part of their households. When World War II veterans returned home to the United States in the 1940s, they brought these furry friends with them, and the Shih Tzu quickly won the hearts of Americans.

Today, the breed remains one of the top ten most popular dogs in the country, according to the American Kennel Club.

Frequently Asked Questions

Shih Tzus are fairly easy to take care of, as they do not require a great deal of exercise. If the owner chooses to keep the hair long, it will require careful daily grooming. If not groomed regularly, tangles and painful mats can develop. Many owners tie the hair on the top of the Shih Tzu’s head into a distinctive top knot so that the dog can see more easily. The hair can, however, be trimmed in order to keep grooming needs to a minimum. Most Shih Tzus enjoy outside exercise or simply running around inside a house or yard. Their eyes are sensitive and need to be cleaned regularly

Shih Tzus are often considered hypoallergenic, which means they are less likely to cause allergic reactions in sensitive individuals. Unlike many other breeds, Shih Tzus have hair instead of fur, which sheds less and produces less dander. This can be beneficial for people with allergies or asthma who still want to experience the joys of pet ownership. However, it's important to note that no dog breed is completely hypoallergenic, and individual reactions can vary. Regular grooming and maintenance are still recommended to keep both the dog and their environment clean and healthy.

Shih Tzus are intelligent and eager to please, making them generally trainable dogs. However, their independent nature can make training more challenging than with some other breeds. Positive reinforcement training methods, such as reward-based training and clicker training, tend to work best with Shih Tzus. They also respond well to consistent training, as well as socialization from a young age. While they may take longer to learn certain commands than other breeds, with patience and persistence, Shih Tzus can be set up for behavioral success!
